Educator

As an educator I strive to make each student feel comfortable, respected, and safe in my studio. I regularly have a private studio of around 50 students. I mostly teach voice, but also teach piano, guitar, double and electric bass, and theory. Many of my students pursue music as a profession, and I am very proud of the fact that 100% of my high school students who have auditioned for music schools have been accepted into music programs at the collegiate level. I have also had many students pursue voice pathology or voice science. I currently teach at Victor J. Andrew High School in Tinley Park, IL (11 years) and Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, IL (5 years). I have been on faculty of South Suburban College in South Holland, IL where I taught private voice and am still a guest lecturer. It makes me extremely happy to see the continued success of my students as they grace the national and international stage as singers, dancers, actors, composers, or continue their work as they help others with speech disorders.

Being a multi-instrumentalist and a classically trained singer I am often called upon to clinic various types of ensembles. I have been fortunate to find myself on the podium guest conducting orchestras, concert bands, jazz bands, and choirs. I have judged solo and ensemble, meistersinger, mixed instrumental/voice competitions. I regularly act as an opera coach, and masterclass teacher. I have served as judge for both ILMEA Junior and Senior high division chorus auditions.
